Say goodbye to Cammy...

Cammy the Camry and the Pothier family officially cut ties as of Monday! We realized it was time to get rid of it while we were ahead. So we posted it on Craigslist, and within three days it was sold. Which then put us in a dilemma because we hadn't planned on it selling so quick so we weren't prepared with another car, so we're doing the one car thing for now, but that won't last for much longer.
As it drove away one final time both Steve and I were amazed at how attached you can get to a car. What was harder was the fact that is was sold to a 16 year old girl who on the first day she got her license totaled the first car her father purchased for her...we're bound to see it in a wrecking yard in the weeks to come.

Summer television...

I understand there's a reason why most TV shows take a break during the summer months, there's so much more to do during the summer than to sit around and watch TV. However, I still find myself saddened by a number of TV shows I must wait until the fall to watch or to never be aired again. So I've stocked the TiVo full of reruns so I can act as though Tuesday night at 7 p.m. I will be graced by the presence of both Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, in utter desperation that my attempts to watch each episode over and over again will somehow revive the show and they'll miraculously show up this fall on Tuesday nights! What's even more comical is the fact that I own every season but I still don't have the heart to take them off my TiVo, so instead I save season 7 (this last season), and then delete off the other episodes as they're recorded.

So my summer TiVo looks like this:
Bunches and bunches of both Gilmore Girls and The Office
Last Comic Standing
A few episodes of House and Scrubs
20/20 (which usually ends up deleted without watching it unless it has an extremely catchy title such as an one on one interview with Steve Carell or the ultimate secret to becoming rich)
Numerous HGTV shows
A couple new prospects I'm still testing the waters with (Traveler, On the Lot, and Dora the Explorer)
Movies (I'll probably never get around to watching)
And a Doodlebop here... and Backyardigans there..

My little ham...

This little girl cracks me up all the time. Everyone in church who sits behind us always feels the need to tells us how much of a ham our daughter is. They say "Wow she's got personality". At first I thought this was great. But it's now the tone in their voices that makes me think differently. You know that tone, its that underlying feeling that they're saying one thing, but they really trying to say something else. So when they come up to us and say she has so much personality, I believe it can now be interpreted as, "Wow she is really busy I don't know how you managed to keep her in Sacrament the whole meeting, I know we didn't learn anything because she was being so distractive." I Understand she's busy...not ever very loud, but busy enough that she's more interesting than the high councilman at the pulpit . So the only alternative would be to sit in the back of the chapel. Most of you know my husband well enough to know, that just isn't an option. So for all those that sit behind us, I apologize, but at least your kids aren't in front of us, being distractive!!

Nauvoo, IL

We went to Nauvoo two weeks ago with my family. It was the first time any of us had been there, and it was great. My favorite part was attending the temple there. It has rich beautiful hard wood floors throughout a lot the temple which makes for a somewhat noisy walk if you have high heels! Another highlight of the trip was visiting Carthage Jail. This picture was taken right outside the window where Joseph fell. There was such a reverence about the whole area, Nauvoo included, a great idea for a family vacation if you haven't already visited.

Welcome Friends and Family!

Yes, it is true, we have joined the blogging world. I tried abstaining for as long as physically possible. But as I sit and listen to all of our friends talk about their blogs, everyone keeps asking us what our blog address is. Sadly I reply, “We have yet to join your kind”. I get blank stares, as if I’m so old school my phone is probably connected to the wall. I’m sure they’re thinking…Kara the graphic designer must not be up on what’s cool. I’m here to declare, I am cool. In fact I have an iPod and a cell phone. (Not that its rolled into one, but maybe someday soon!) I never thought my life was so interesting, that I could document it and somebody else in this century would find it even remotely interesting, I’ll be lucky if my husband visits the site. However, in recent months, I’ve found myself frequently visiting blogs of friends and family, and I really enjoy it. Therefore, if there lives are considered interesting to me, perhaps mine might be to someone else. Unfortunately, the one who would probably enjoy it the most, my mother, who is just becoming familiar with email, might take a while longer to jump on the “blog-wagon”. So here I am…jump in and prepare to be updated.
