Once upon a time…a long time ago…(If this is sounding like a previous post, you would be correct. Yes, I’m that far behind!) I took a trip to Idaho to see family. Being so far from family, and with two small children in tow, we make it home once a year. It would be too much work to do it any other way, besides it would get real expensive real quick.

So I made my annual trek to Idaho and it was everything I imagined it would be and more. Most of you are probably wondering if there is anything to do in Idaho, and rest assured there is plenty. The majority of it revolves around family and friends, but that alone keeps me busy for two weeks. This time around I flew out with the kids by myself for a week, then Steve flew out to join us for a few days, I stayed a couple more days and then came home.

My favorite part about going home is spending time with my parents. My mom so kindly allowed me to sleep in, day after day. And my kids kept getting up earlier, and earlier. With that kind of treatment, I’m tempted to stay for a month! I love being with them and having them spend time with my kids.

My brother and his family also came down from northern Idaho so we were able to spend some good time with them which Hallie loves because they have a girl just 11 days older than her.

I’m not sure why Idaho gets the best sunrises, but they sure take the cake on that. I’ve yet to see a sunrise or sunset in Wisconsin that even comes close to the beauty I see day in and day out there.

I also met two sweet new babies (my best friend from high school and her sister) and photographed them one day. The one baby was just two days old and had so much hair, they were both so sweet and lovely.
