Labor day weekend we definitely labored…we spent a total of 17 hours by a pool. No joke. We officially have fish as children and we soaked in a whole lot of sun. We spent Friday and Saturday at a local resort with a lot of Steve’s family (more on that later), Sunday we enjoyed a nice day of rest before hitting hard again Monday.
We spent Monday with our friends the Gregory/Boyers and they never fail to provide a good time.
There was a diving board contest for the kids, which Hallie willingly participated in:
We ate more food than seemed physically possible to consume.
Some intense water basketball.
We had a great spread of food.
Great tunes to rock out to.
Did I mention we ate really well – two items I especially enjoyed: a cottage cheese, tomato, avocado dip. I know it sounds a little weird but dipping Fritos in it is divine. Also, a spinich/pasta salad with a pesto sauce, yummy!
We anticipated staying two hours, which in the sun is completely draining…after five hours we finally were able to drag our children out of the water. They could have stayed longer!
Although having a young baby outside all day is not ideal, it worked. They have a great lounge area completely shaded which is where I stayed the majority of the afternoon with this sweet guy:
It turned out to be a pretty great weekend. Thank you Labor Day for the long weekend!
Looks so fun and the pictures are gorgeous.
So glad you guys could come! Really. Love all the pics – I should have told you to take pics of my kids as well. Their life is too undocumented!
