Get ready for picture overload.

A week after our spring break, we had our friends the Tysons come into town to celebrate their spring break. For the record: Arizona is awesome in March. Beautiful weather, pools, beautiful weather, spring training baseball, beautiful weather and fresh squeezed OJ. We have a free room for those that want to come experience all the goodness that March has to offer. Another note: don’t come in July.

One of our go-to activities when people come to visit: Scorpion hunting. Not something that many people have ever experienced and it always gets a good reaction. Of course we’ve made note to do this at the end of someone’s stay instead of the beginning so you’re not freaked out the whole time you’re here. We will send you home with a jar full of them so you can show your friends. Sam thought this was pretty cool!


We swam in the pool for the first time and it was a little chilly for our Arizona blood but it didn’t stop the kids from diving in.


We visited Riverview park and enchanted island.













We had some friends (from our days in Milwaukee) fly in to join in on the weekend fun.

All visitors to Arizona are treated to a shopping experience at Nordstrom Last Chance. It’s crazier than crazy and you can find some killer deals…but you have to fight a few people.

And we managed to find some time for ourselves one evening for dinner.

We had late nights and long days and kids were screaming from exhaustion. And yet it was awesome. The kids played so well together and had the best time and the adults got to talk and catch up. There were tears shed when we had to send them home. I told Hunter that’s how you know you have a good friend – when it brings you to tears to say goodbye to them.

We came to the conclusion that we often become friends with people because of proximity; we live in the same neighborhood, kids go to school together, attend the same church, etc. When circumstances change, you don’t keep in contact and you might never talk to those friends again. And then there’s the people you meet by proximity that make such an impact on your life – no matter how far away you move, or how little time you spend with them, they will forever be in your thoughts and in your hearts. These people are those friends. We feel so blessed to have spent the week with them building our relationships.
