Steve’s work annual family fun day never disappoints. (Previous years here and here). My kids hold animals, ride rides, drink sodas and eat enough cotton candy to rot all of their teeth. A complete success!

This year’s theme was “Circus” which seems fitting because I have constant feelings that our family is a walking circus. Stand back 10 feet – our three year old might bite!

Hallie thinks her dad’s job is a walk in the park (or zoo) and claims it’s not fair that he has jars of candy on his desk all the time.

She was the only one who dared to come close to Steve’s co-workers friendly office pet. Hunter got close enough to get a good look without being in striking distance and Bennett stood in the doorway and cried.

They transformed the entire exterior of the campus into a full-blown circus. Every where you turned there were clowns, balloon artists and stilt walkers, popcorn, cotton candy and funnel cakes – they go all out.

We were smart enough to hit all the rides before we allowed them to eat anything. One ride that Hallie went on spun her around in so many directions and speeds, I nearly threw-up just watching her.

Not surprising we spent the most time at the craft stations. The spin art was a huge hit, my kids had never seen anything like it and were mesmerized with the process. I remember wanting a spin art kit so bad when I was little and never got one. After watching the mess it made, I know why my parents never bought it for me. Super fun activity to do somewhere besides home!

I got a kick watching Bennett at the petting zoo. He so badly wanted to hold every animal (including the goat that was his size) yet they kept running away from him. Smart animals. He got close a few times.

Hallie was quick enough and caught this sweet little piggy she lovingly referred to as Wilbur. Hunter was in the action as well, but he never attempted to hold or catch any of the animals. He’s always been a little shy around things with fur (or that have four legs, or that slither, or…you get the idea). But he made sure to follow Hallie around to tell her what things to pet or pick up!

We walked away with tired children in full sugar-induced comas once again claiming that dad has the coolest job ever. Thank you Petsmart from these crazy clowns.
