There’s no doubt that the “B” word (bored) has been thrown around a couple times by the kids this summer but for the most part they’re entertaining themselves just fine. I love that they have unstructured time to play. Play in the pool. Play in the backyard. Play with toys. Play with cousins. Just play.
Hallie is the instigator of all things creative and she’s usually coming up with the ideas of what to play. Hunter goes along 80% of the time, 20% of the time he just wants to play by himself and that’s okay too. Bennett thinks he’s a big kid and if Hallie is doing something he’s all in.
Cannon…Hallie practically claims him as her own child and when he’s up, she wants him with her in whatever activity she’s dreamed up. He plays the best baby brother sitting in his swing while she plays around him most the time.
I keep telling my kids that they’re living the dream – enjoying summer. Little do they know, they older they get the less “summer” actually means. We’re going to soak it up while we can.
