Its hard to believe that even though we’re still hitting 100 degree temperatures, our pool season is winding down. I’m hoping to squeeze a couple more weeks out of it, but already this weekend my kids were saying it was cold. Lets be clear – it wasn’t “cold”, it was just cooler than it had been in the scorching July heat. It’s all in what you compare it too! Bring on the swimsuits!

Tonight we were in our swimsuits for family night and the temperature was just right! The kid’s school PTO hosts a night at the local pool to raise money and we joined with a lot of families in support. The kids swam, jumped, slid and splashed the evening away. We saw kids from Hallie’s previous classes, we saw Hunter’s new friends, teachers and neighborhood families. It made me grateful to be attending our neighborhood school with all the wonderful neighborhood families. We’re only a few years into the school scene but I can only imagine years down the road, seeing the same families raise their kids with us. It’s comforting to have that community feel.

We had a good time.

Bennett was in heaven when he saw his very best friend Anna and their happy dance and hug was enough to make everyone watching smile.

As much as I love swim season, I’m not sad one bit that I won’t be washing loads and loads of towels every week. Not to mention the swimsuits are pretty worn out at this point and I’m not about to replace them at this point!
