I’ve made it a life goal to not be up before 7 o’clock in the morning. Don’t judge. I’m a night person. And 7 o’clock gives me plenty of time to get the kids ready and out the door in time. We all win. But this morning my wake up call came much earlier. At 6:15 this morning I heard the loudest crash – our house might as well have caved in on itself it was that loud and it jolted me from my sleep. I soon heard my children running down the stairs excitedly shouting that the thunder woke them up. I was pleased to know my house hadn’t caved in and I settled back into bed to catch another 45 minutes. There was another loud explosive crack and the house shook. And another and another. The rain pelted against my window and more thunder rolled in. Part of me wanted to get up and check out the excitement, but more of me wanted to stick to my life goal and enjoy the sound and rumblings from the comfort of my bed…and I did.

It did not let up for some time. Rain in Arizona is fun. It’s warm enough you can run outside in your swimsuit and really enjoy some puddle jumping. And that’s what the kids did.

And when the rain let up – it was time for a rain dance to bring some more. (I’m going to give Steve all credit for this boys incredible moves!)
