I think the first time I ever touched a skateboard I was in college – and I probably looked ridiculous. I’m sure the people that saw me in the parking lot that day just laughed and I’m pretty sure the guy that was helping me realized we would never have a future together. It was embarrassing enough that I didn’t touch another skateboard for years. In fact, it wasn’t until Hunter received his board for Christmas that I tried it again. I still look ridiculous – but I’m determined to get better and not embarrass my kids on our driveway.
What’s funny is Hunter hadn’t touched a board before Christmas and by Christmas afternoon he was skating all over the place. Clearly his natural ability didn’t come from me.
Cannon is picking up on it faster than me. He pulls out that board every time we’re out on the driveway and scoots around.
He’ll be cruising around the neighborhood in no time.
