Bennett was hanging around the kitchen as I prepped some desserts before Thanksgiving. He saw me mixing chocolate mouse in the KitchenAid and he never left my side. He knew very well that I would finish mixing, pour the mousse into the pie crust and be left with a dirty chocolate bowl. He of course came to my rescue and offered to clean it up for me. I told him he could have the bowl, but he needed to make sure none of the other kids saw him or else he’d have to share.

He found the most inconspicuous place he could find: On top of the counter, directly next to the sink. And shockingly enough, not one person saw him. I sneak one skittle out of the candy cupboard and I’ve got five kids begging for candy. But not Bennett – he can sit on the counter with a chocolate mustache and no one takes notice.
