Just a few more things to catch up on before I forget what took place:
Hallie’s final school project was a country report – each student chose a few countries they would be interested in and the teacher made assignments. Hallie got her first choice – Peru – because Steve served a mission there and had plenty of souvenirs.
For over a month and a half she researched and studied this country and made a tri-fold to display to show what she had learned. She spent time talking with Steve learning what it was like to live in the country. She then dressed the part (with Steve’s Peruvian relics) and presented her country at the world’s fair. Her preparation and attention to detail paid off and she nailed the presentation.
Bennett participated in a weekly after school spanish club – he’s not involved in sports yet so he looked forward to this club every week. They learned how to make Mexican food, they performed plays in spanish and learned songs. They had a performance for the parents on the last day of the club and he was so excited to show all the things he had learned.
I ran into Hallie and her friend when I was in the school one morning – one of the last times she would walk the halls of the elementary school. 🙁
Hallie had a daddy daughter dance at school and a couple weeks later that had a mother son game night. Nothing like a friendly game of dodgeball, throwing balls at your mom. Hunter and his friends were in for a treat because I wasn’t about to go easy on them! We had the best time.
Briggs has many faces and as you can see, most of them have his mouth open – and these are just a few of the photos. Silly kid.
BBQ buddies. They sat outside and talked while Steve manned the grill. I love witnessing these small but simple moments.
