She’s in junior high and she’s learning that it is nothing like elementary school. Just the other night after hours of homework she was taking a break on the chair next to me. I could see her exhaustion. I asked if she wanted to go back to 6th grade. With just the slightest hint of a smile she said yes. 6th grade was easier. She was always with her friends. And she admitted to missing recess. Growing up can be hard!
Luckily she hasn’t outgrown swimming with the family after dinner – her time is just a little shorter because of homework! (And speaking of homework – what teacher gives homework on Fridays?! All the hours of homework during the week weren’t enough…you wanted to take their weekend as well? Let them be!)
Kara,
I don’t normally ask for help from others and I don’t know you `personally’ but I am reaching out to ask you for your prayers.
3 days ago my widowed BIL and very dear friend Mac was diagnosed with secondary cancers in face (cheekbone) and brain.
He told our doctor 6+ weeks ago he was concerned about a facial swelling and she ignored it.
8 days ago he saw a new doctor who fast tracked it and told us 2 days ago that there were secondaries in his spine, rib cage and stomach.
The prognosis is not good, he’s recently completed a cure for the Hepatitis C his first, late wife contracted from infected blood and unknowingly passed on to him.
Thankfully my late sister did not get it but it means that chemotherapy is not an option and they are still unaware of where primary site is.
Just in case that wasn’t enough the same doctor who ignored his swelling failed to refer me after my memory test was really poor and that too being fast tracked. I already have Dementia with Lewy Bodies but can have other cognitive probs.
Also severe period type pain after finishing Menopause 6+ years ago, alongside frequent weeing and weight loss not great omen.
So we could use every bit of support out there. Lucy
