Bennett has sat on the sidelines watching his siblings play sports and was so excited to finally get his turn to play. But every kid has a unique personality and as much as he wanted to play, he had never really picked up a ball because he just hasn’t had much interest. Hunter carries a ball every where he goes and as a result is comfortable with them. This was Bennett’s first exposure to basketball specifically and he really had no interest in playing outside of his assigned practices and games. Even when we were at home trying to offer him some pointers – his interest was slim. So we let him Bennett be Bennett and  we chose a league that fit him and his interest level.

It was just what he needed to spark a little interest in sports. Does he want to come home and practice and try and get better? Not really. But did he love playing sports after school with some of his buddies? Yes he did.

This same club goes through all the sports in the course of the year and Bennett is pleased to be apart of it and I’m just grateful it’s right after school, is done before dinner and doesn’t take up our Saturdays!
