Although we live relatively close to snow, we don’t make it there as often as our kids would like. We recently had a large snow storm come through and we wanted to take advantage of some good snow. Unfortunately, with the snow came a cold front and we braved frigid temperatures for an afternoon of fun…and frustration because getting kids in snow gear can be just as painful as stepping on a lego in the middle of the night. Some kids thought it was more fun than others and some kids like Cannon just wanted to stay in the car (I think it was him not feeling well and then being cold just pushed him over the edge.)
We talked some friends into braving the cold with us and that’s saying a lot because it takes some time to round up this much snow gear for desert dwellers. (I had the genius idea years ago to buy snow bibs and snow boots in every size after the season on clearance and they’ve come in handy year after year!)
Surprisingly Briggs was happy as could be and was a trooper the whole time. (Aside from the one time he face planted pictured below!) Even when we were packing up and everyone was warming up in the cars, he was still out throwing snowballs. He was made for colder weather, unlike his mother who prefers late spring snow when jackets are optional. 🙂
