This is usually how school Valentine’s go down at our house. I’m usually thinking about it fairly early – and I think – this is the year that I’m going to walk into Target and buy a box of valentine’s and go on my merry way. And every year, I walk down that aisle and find several that would work great. Only to realize that there’s 24 valentine’s in the box and there’s 27 kids in the class. Very sneaky.
You think I’m going to buy two boxes and be stuck with 19 extras?? Nope. Not going to happen. I keep hoping one year I’m going to walk down and see a box that caters to a classroom of 30. Until then…I’ll be making my own!
Here’s some we’ve done in past years…

These are awesome! We can’t give out any food items at our elementary school, so I bought some little heart shaped notebooks at the dollar store.
These are so cute! Where do you get the small plastic bags to put the candy in?
I found the bags at Hobby Lobby in the jewelry section. I’m sure you can find them on amazon as well, they were 3″x4″ with a zip top. Good Luck!
I bought mine at Walmart in the jewelry section…100 bags for $2.00
It drives me nuts that the valentines are all in packages of 24!!!!! However I did find two sets of non candy valentines (I think they came with unicorn erasers?) that were a package of 30. But my kids of course want to pass out candy, not erasers. Yours are way cuter than store bought ones anyways!
Way clever, as usual. Honestly your brain and creativity is amazing. I hope Hallie gets to take that woodworking class. You ought to certify that she knows the basics! I know, wrong blog but thinking it still.
