We have spent 7 of the last 9 Memorial Day weekends with family up north at Steve’s sister’s cabin, and this year was probably my favorite. My kids are old enough to play with their cousins with little to no instruction and our youngest is at a fun stage. Our time visiting with family was casual and reminiscent – the perfect blend of family time.
Every year, this trip is like a going away party for the family before everyone heads their separate directions for the summer and we don’t see each other for a long while. It was good to connect with our little family as well as extended family.
Pickleball, tennis, pool time, puzzles, playgrounds, corn hole, and sitting on the couch and just laughing. Summer has arrived.
