After too many cancellations to count, you can imagine our excitement when we received an email in mid May that the Arizona Soccer Association was allowing practice to resume – albeit under strict protocals. I knew there would be social distancing, but they took safety to another level. Each player had to remain in a 10ft square. They were only able to touch their ball, which meant there was absolutely no passing of the ball. It ended up being individual soccer drills in a box. Not ideal, but better than nothing and it got us out of the house.

Two weeks later practice was cancelled due to a statewide curfew because of rioting. After two weeks they were able to hold practice again and after one practice they shut it back down due to increase cases of COVID.

One step forward two steps back.

We’re back to doing soccer drills in the house with youtube videos!
