Briggs came home from preschool today and with complete reverence and decent accuracy he recounted the tragic events of September 11th to Hallie and me. He was speaking softly and deliberately as he talked about the twin towers being hit. (It was clear how his teacher had recounted the events to him and how he mimicked that same tone.)
At his age, he couldn’t possibly understand the ramifications from that single event but he knows it is treated as a special day. It’s a day that we proudly wave the American flag. It’s a day we will always strive to remember.
