Once upon a time we made it to Lake Powell – I’m not sure there is a happier place for my kids.
I love watching their excitement when they get up on the surf board and finally “get it”.
I love when their giggles and screams bounce off the red rock as their dad throws them into the water.
I love the wide eyes of my kids as they paddle board into the narrow canyon and find their “secret hideout”.
I love watching their expressions as they wrestle with the nerves to cliff jump (no matter how tall the cliff is).
I love showering at the end of each day and finally feeling fresh and clean.
I love the sunsets. And the story telling after a long run on the boat. And the evening paddle board rides. And the time we spend as a family. I love it – just like the kids – its my happy place.
