Hallie went back to in-person school today and you know what I’m going to miss the most – looking out the window and seeing these two having a little lunch date. I’m not sure how Briggs convinced her to do it in the first place, but every day he waits to have his lunch until Hallie is on her lunch break. He packs the blanket outside and Hallie grabs the food.
When it was cold and windy outside, they set up the blanket on the floor of the living room. One day, Hallie went to lunch with a friend and Briggs was heartbroken to miss out. “But who’s going to eat lunch with me?” I consoled him by convincing him Hallie would have a picnic lunch with him after school.
Lunch is always more fun with a friend – she sure is good to him.
