This year, for the first time, our school (and surrounding schools) had a club flag football season for girls. (Even more exciting is it was just sanctioned as a high school sport which I love!) I encouraged Hallie to play but she was reluctant because she was afraid of getting hurt before tennis season which was understandable.

Luckily, at the end of the school year the senior girls play the junior girls in a friendly (or not so friendly) game and with the tennis season behind her, Hallie was excited to participate. She played defense and she’s played enough backyard games with her brothers, she was ready for this moment!
Did they win? No. Was it rigged? Yes! This is totally student led and run and somehow they only selected senior boys to be the refs. It was hard to watch several touchdowns taken back for no reason. However, next year she will be a senior and it will be rigged in her favor. The circle of high school seniority!
