I always knew this day would come…eventually my kids would pass me up in height. For some reason I always assumed Hallie would pass me up but then she stopped growing inches shy of my height.
And then seemingly out of nowhere – Hunter grew inches in a matter of months and one day he was standing next to me in the kitchen and I was surprised to be standing eye to eye with him. I quickly looked down to see what shoes he was wearing only to find him barefoot. We were both barefoot. He realized I was sizing him up as he puffed up his chest and challenged me to a measurement.
He passed me up without me even realizing it. And you better believe he’s so proud of this accomplishment. His knees and ankles are constantly aching due to his rapid growth but he’s taller than his mom – major milestone in his eyes.
