I think I’m going to refer to our trip to DC as our “Capstone” trip – our last family trip while all of our kids are living under our roof. Of course there will be other family trips – Hallie is only gone for 18 months – but right now we are all aware a chapter is closing. And this trip was the perfect capstone. So if you’re wondering why in the world there are so many pictures of this trip – that is why – it was a special chapter-closing trip.
The day we were flying out we made arrangements to drive the 45 minutes from the National Mall to the Washington DC temple before heading to the airport. It was beautiful inside and out and I’m glad we made the trip at our friends’ suggestion to join them.
