20 weeks…
This guy had his first sleepover this week! 
Steve and I had a hiking/camping overnighter sans children. I haven’t spent a night without Cannon and I almost backed out three times the day we were supposed to leave. I was stressing. I knew they were in good hands with my sister-in-law and their family, yet it didn’t change my nerves. Steve reminded me that I need to be able to leave him in a a couple weeks while we attend a wedding and this was just a practice run.
Luckily- the practice run went well. I did dream that a baby was crying a good portion of the night and I had to keep remembering to pump milk. From what we were told – Cannon did well and had plenty of loving arms taking care of him – including Steve’s brother who watched sports center with him in the wee hours of the morning (bonding time). He came back to us in one piece and I didn’t have a breakdown. Wins all around!
But boy was I happy to have him back with me – middle of the night feeding and all.

This guy’s eczema is awful right now. His face has patches covering it and he’s constantly scratching which results in a face that looks like he’s been in a fight. We put socks on his hands to minimize the damage, but then he just sucks on the socks and rubs the wet sock all over his face – also not great for his eczema. The doctor recognized just how bad it was and gave us a prescription cream but of course it can’t go anywhere near his face…lame.
He’s a whopping 15.5 pounds and 26 inches long. He’s a solid boy for sure. He’s proven he can roll from front to back and back to front although doesn’t do it all the time. He likes to put weight on his legs and is just starting to enjoy the exersaucer. We’re working on his eczema and we often put socks on his hands because he scratches his face relentlessly.
After several nights of interrupted sleep, it felt really good to sleep through the night the last two nights. He continues to roll and when Hallie first saw him do it, you would’ve thought it was Christmas she was so excited for him and she talked sweet excited baby talk to him for at least 15 minutes. He drools like crazy and if I didn’t know better I’d think he was cutting teeth. He likes the bumbo chair and now that it’s out, I have three kids constantly trying to sit in it themselves. Baby toys are so fun!
This week sleep was minimal for this guy and I’m exhausted because of it. And although he was a little cranky at times, he was still smiling. He’s getting stronger which means he’s trying to pull houdini moves to get out of his woombie. He’s now swaddled and then the woombie and he’s sleeping much better because of it. (He has a bad case of flailing arms)
